Educational Outreach
Farm Hand / Mentoring
Our farm tours and programs educate others as to the importance of saving rapidly vanishing traditional livestock breeds and crops that were raised by farmers in days past.

Mentoring Classes
We offer a comprehensive one-on-one mentoring program here at the Old Crowe Farm

Experience First Hand
On-farm mentoring with overnight accommodations is also offered.

We Raise The Best
Rare Heritage Livestock
We raise and sell heritage American Guinea Hogs, Dexter cattle, and Tennessee fainting goats, as well as the eggs from our free-ranging chickens.
Maremma Livestock Guardian Dogs
During the spring of every year, a litter of purebred Maremma Sheepdogs are offered for sale. These exceptional livestock guardians watch over poultry, goats, cattle, and pigs here at the Old Crowe Farm.

Our Classes
Home Canning & Fermentation
We offer a series of food preservation classes, ranging from home canning to dehydrating. Want to learn to preserve your own food? Come take a class with our certified Master Food Preserver and learn how to preserve some of this falls’ bounty!

Water Bath Canning
All the ingredients, necessary equipment and jars are provided by the farm. We use safe canning recipes during a hands-on lesson. Each participant leaves with knowledge of the canning process and a jar of product.

Pressure Canning
Join us in canning vegetables while learning principles of pressure canning. We will provide all you need to learn how to pressure can safely and send you home with a jar for your pantry.

Fermentation
Discover how to turn the simple humble cabbage into a probiotic rich and bursting with goodness sauerkraut for you and all the family. Come and lean how to make sauerkraut at home.
