Farm Tours
Our farm tour educates others as to the importance of saving rapidly vanishing traditional livestock breeds and crops that were raised by farmers in days past. The farm is ever-changing and can be visited at any time during the year as a way to deepen your connection to your food, broaden your understanding of how a farm works, or simply enjoy a peaceful day in the country. We have parking and can accommodate families and groups of all ages.
Tour Scope
We begin with a walkabout through the farm and learn about the history and operation of our farm. Take in the orchards, learn about the principles and practices of organic farming, and learn about raising endangered farm animals. Following the walk, we get up close and personal with the livestock.
Scheduling a Tour
The farm is open to visitors by reservation only. Contact us or call us at 434-735-0139 to make a reservation.
Field Trips
Our field trips are tailored specifically for your school or other group by offering a variety of hands-on learning experiences. We emphasize a “seed to mouth” or “field to fork” full circle understanding of food production as well as the importance of saving vanishing livestock breeds and crops.
